Peter
J. Payne was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 7, 1968.
He graduated from Serra Catholic High School in 1986 and obtained his
property, casualty and life insurance agent’s license that same year.
After attending Duquesne University and receiving his B.S. in Business
Administration in 1989, he attended the Duquesne University School of
Law, graduating in 1993. Mr. Payne worked in the insurance industry
as an agent while pursuing his undergraduate degree. During law school,
Mr. Payne worked part-time for the law firm of Fingeret, Alberts & Flynn,
a medium-sized Plaintiff’s firm in Pittsburgh. This experience has given
him a unique perspective to view cases from both the Plaintiff and Defense
point of view. Mr. Payne was a member of the law firm Gaydos, Gaydos
& Associates from 1994 until November 1997 when he founded the
law firm Payne Myers. As a trial attorney, Mr. Payne concentrates in
insurance defense, insurance law and subrogation with an emphasis on
automobile insurance law. Mr. Payne has successfully completed CPCU
courses one, five, and six. Mr. Payne is a member of the Allegheny
County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Pennsylvania
Defense Institute and Defense Research Institute. Mr. Payne is active
in his local community, church and fraternal organizations.
Mr. Payne resides in North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania with his wife,
Bonnie, and four (4) children.

James L. Welsh III

James
L. Welsh III was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on May 9, 1963.
After graduating from Lyndon Institute in 1980 Jim obtained his property,
casualty and life insurance agent’s license. He received his B.S. degree
from Northern Michigan University in 1986. Mr. Welsh then received his
law degree from The Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1990. While in law
school, he was elected Editor-in-Chief of the Cooley Law Review, graduated
cum laude, was the Chairman of The Scholastic Review Board and received
The Distinguished Student Award. Mr. Welsh began his career as an associate at Robb, Leonard and
Muvihill
in 1990 and was elected as a partner in 1997. In 2002, Jim decided
he could
provide the insurance industry with quality representation while
decreasing
litigation costs by moving his practice out of Pittsburgh into
the suburbs.
As a result, Payne, Welsh & Klingensmith, P.L.L.C. was formed as a
partnership committed to providing insureds and self-insureds with
Pittsburgh
lawyering at affordable rates. As a trial attorney, Mr. Welsh concentrates
in
insurance defense, with extensive trial experience in automobile and property
liability cases, workers’ compensation and toxic torts. In 1994, he was
elected by a consortium of insurance carriers as national counsel for a client
involved in toxic tort litigation. He oversaw and directed cases nationwide
and tried all cases in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Mr. Welsh is licensed
in both Pennsylvania and West Virginia and he is a member of the American
Bar Association, The Pennsylvania Bar Association and The Allegheny County
Bar
Association. He taught discovery tactics to paralegals and frequently
lectures to clients on issues of general defense strategy, toxic torts and
Workers’ Compensation. Mr. Welsh
resides in North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania with his wife, Melissa,
and daughter, Emily.
Mr.
Robert C. Klingensmith

C. Klingensmith was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 25,
1963.
He attended the Pennsylvania State University graduating in 1986 receiving
a
B.S. in Environmental Resource Management with a focus in Genetic
Engineering and Cell and Molecular Biology and performed graduate level
engineering research in Bacteriological Bioremediation Technologies.
Following graduation he was employed by the environmental engineering
firms International Technology and the Chester Engineers as Project Engineer
and Project/Program Manager. In these positions he worked domestically
and abroad performing engineering design, site construction management,
and technical oversight where he was responsible for Technical and Financial
Management for a variety of Construction and Environmental Engineering
Projects and Programs.
Mr. Klingensmith
attended the Duquesne University School of Law. While
attending law school he was employed as a Paralegal with the law firm of
Robert P. Costello and Associates where he was primarily responsible for
assisting in trial preparation and valuation of construction related matters.
Mr. Klingensmith began his legal career with Marshall, Dennehy, Warner,
Coleman and Goggin as an associate splitting his practice between
professional liability defense for engineers, architects, construction related
matters and automobile insurance law.
Mr. Klingensmith is a member of the American Bar Association,
The
Pennsylvania Bar Association and The Allegheny County Bar Association.
Mr. Klingensmith
resides in Murrysville, Pennsylvania with his wife, Susan,
daughters, Maggie and Annie, and son Michael.

Anthony
S. Posa was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on November 3, 1975.
He obtained his B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of
Pittsburgh and graduated in 1999. Mr. Posa attended the Duquesne University
School of Law and graduated in 2002.
During law school Mr. Posa participated in an externship with
the U.S.
Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania, Civil Division.
Mr. Posa worked as a clerk in the legal department at Federated
Investors, Inc.
from January 2001 to September 2001. While employed there he worked
on corporate issues including Workers’ Compensation Claims.
